discounted PC maintenance and repair service to members of Sutton Coldfield Ramblers. |
An hourly rate of £30 will be reduced to £20 for Sutton Coldfield
Ramblers.
Typical costs would be:
- wireless set up from scratch:
£20
- wireless fix: £10 to £20
- Printer fix: £10 to £20
- Hard drive replace: £20 plus
cost of hard drive of member's choosing.
- Memory (ram) upgrade £10 plus
cost of memory
- Reinstall windows: £20
- System cleanup (2 hours) £20
- Virus removal is potentially
trickier depending on the scale of infection. But, no more than
£30 to £40 plus cost of software (if any).

The above prices reflect
reduced charges to Sutton Coldfield Ramblers.
Costs will be explained to members at the outset to make it clear that the
concessionary rates are as a result of the arrangement with Ramblers.
The non-discounted hourly rate will have to prevail if faced with,
for example, a massive clean up before remedial work could commence.
Hopefully, as the relationship with members of Sutton Coldfield Ramblers
is established, more can be done for
members at a lower cost. For example, if in the process of setting up a network there was also a printer problem that could
be fixed, there would probably be no extra charge.
The usual catchment area is an approximate 15 mile radius but, if requested to make a special trip further
afield, this will be done with pleasure. There are existing customers in Birmingham, Burton, Stafford, Solihull and Nuneaton.
